Even though here in Kenya it is winter, for Americans the summer season has begun and so have the short-term mission projects! May 13-29 AH welcomed a group from Truman State University. Truman's campus ministry has a partnership with the school in Elong'ata Enterit, and as part of the partnership they send a team to work with this rural school and surrounding communities every year. This was the 2nd or 3rd trip for 3 of the 4 students on the team this year... they just can't get enough of Kenya!
My good friends Kevin & Danielle led the team and brought along their 2 little ones (they are adventurous). We got to celebrate baby John's first birthday while they were here!

Kevin stayed in the bush with the team while Danielle and the kids stayed in town with me. It was great to have my little house full of activity while they were here. My Kenyan friends loved that we carried the babies like they do, though Eleanor didn't have the same excitement (can you see the look on her face?!)!
INTERNS
The Truman team is back to the USA already but the day they left we welcomed a team of NMSI interns who will be with us through mid-July. Right now they are roughin' it in the bush for 3 weeks! There are 3 girls and their leader--a fun group. One of the girls is from a Bible study I led while I lived in FL. It's been great to have her here and catch up on the past year we've been apart.
PEKE YANGU (by myself!)
It's a busy time here at AH for me--because of all the visitors (there are a few other individuals coming during the next few months) and because I'm gearing up to be the only American missionary on our team until October! With apprentices all finished up, several teammates on furlough and another family transitioning to their permanent field, I'll be the only mzungu on our team. Pray for me as I attempt to do way too many roles at one time and figure out what I am able to do and what parts of ministry need to be put on hold until my new and returning teammates arrive.
