Here's my language class--we're the intermediate class =) Above the beginners but still learning grammar and lots of new words. It's an adventure! My classmates are from The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany--and the other students in our program are from various other countries, many European. I'm the only one in my class learning Swahili in my "mother tongue" the rest have to do a double translation from Dutch or German to English and then to Swahili... yikes. It's hard enough to translate it from English!
We're having a good time learning. We're laughing a lot, which is so important so that we're not afraid to open our mouths and give this new way of speaking a shot. We have 2 more days of class before the program comes to a close... I think we'll all be sad to go... but excited to get some real practice using what we've been cramming our "vichwa" (heads) full of!
